One day, in retrospect, the years of struggle will strike you as the most beautiful. – Sigmund Freud
I find this quote meaningful to me mainly because it spins of hard work and dedication as not only important to success but as a beautiful thing. It seems that at the end of the day, a person’s achievements are glorious but the years of struggle are actually more magnificent. This quote speaks to me and other college students for that matter because it illustrates that these four years of struggle are actually matter. They may seem academically challenging, and difficult in many other ways, but these are the years that count. These four years may be the most important years in our lives since they dictate what lies ahead in the future. Once I get a stable job with a business degree from UConn I hope to look back and cherish the difficult four years of college that brought me to that point. This quote does not just apply to the work people do in college. It seems to me that this quote is something to live by whenever one is faced with a challenge. Whether it be sports, academics, financial status, or something else Sigmund Freud illustrates that persistence and determination always yield results. The actual struggle may be difficult and maybe even painful but always is worthwhile in the end.
